My work in fiber addresses the subject of memory and loss, the seen and unseen. Cotton organza is translucent, lightweight, and suggests fragility, impermanence, and the ephemeral nature of memory.
I use cotton organza as a substrate which is translucent and lightweight. I apply Dye-Na-Flow paint in multiple layers which acts as a dye, finishing with acrylic paint, and pencil. Some pieces are finished with additional fabric and hand or machine stitching.
