Dissolution I and Dissolution II

I’ve lived on the ledge of the Niagara Escarpment for more than 50 years and I have studied the interplay of water and rock that has given this landscape its beauty as well as environmental problems. Every June for decades, my husband and I have spent a week on Washington Island on the tip of the Door peninsula of Wisconsin. The ferry trip across Death’s Door to the island is a meditation for me. And my camera is the tool I use to document my spiritual retreat. These images become part of my work for the rest of the year.
