Annette Knapstein

Archival Pigment Print

Award-winning fine art photographer focused on intimate nature, empathetic street, botanical and Pictorial-style photography. Influences are botanical art of all kinds and photographers Eliot Porter, Laura Gilpin, those of the Pictorialism movement. Over past ten years photographs have appeared in more than 70 solo, two-person and group exhibitions on the local, regional, national and international levels, both juried and non-juried. Images have also appeared in on-line galleries, websites, publications and juried calendars. Active in local art organizations.

Botanical artwork can be traced back to cave paintings. It remains a perennial favorite theme for artists across mediums. These photographs were shot in studio and reimagined to become part of the Botanical Series which retains a bit of the classic style and adds a bit of the Bohemian style.
