The paintings of Linda Kollacks offer a feast of color to delight the eyes, and an energy that reflects her passion for painting. She has chosen realism as a way to express herself, not desiring just a duplication of the subject before her, but rather an imaginative interpretation using the solid painting skills developed over the years.
Linda’s early training was at the Art Institute of Chicago. Life studies at that esteemed school of art sparked within her the love for portraits and figures she retains to this day. Under the direction of then Chicago based artist, Helen Sowa Flynn (now deceased), she discovered a world of color and fine-tuned her portrait skills.
A move to Brussels, Belgium brought many opportunities to absorb the great art of the past, and the charm of the Old World cast its spell spawning an interest in landscape painting. This European sojourn lasted 22 years providing many wonderful opportunities to paint plein air, a discipline that cannot be overestimated! “Such exploration not only enriched my art experience, but also broadened my life perspective, and I’m deeply grateful for this.”
Linda holds membership in Portrait Society of America, Oil Painters of America and NOAPS.
