Explore relief printing through woodcuts! The goal is to become more confident in image development and technical skills in writing, carving, and printing. Projects include making a small 6×4 inch woodblock print. This smaller print will be practice for deciding image concept and also practice using the tools with the material. After, students will complete a one-of-a-kind 11×14 inch, two-color woodblock bringing their design into fruition. All supplies included.

Tyler Helfrich is an Appleton, Wisconsin artist focusing on sculpture, collage, sound, writing, and collaboration, but works in painting, multimedia, photography, glass, fashion design, and film. Tyler is currently a full-time artist and entrepreneur, creating art and events of many expressions in and around the Fox Valley. Influence of his recent art and events include archaeology, language, science, and philosophy of the human body, mind, and spirit. He received his BFA with an emphasis in Printmaking from UW-Stout. His current mission is to shake up the Wisconsin culture through art!
