Explore the wider world of this Japanese art and craft by folding simple animals and things from nature, geometric forms, and practical objects. We will also paint and enhance our paper using sponges, brushes, markers, and easy texturizing techniques.
Talo Kawasaki
Talo Kawasaki Art Educator
Talo Kawasaki is a NY-based artist and educator whose passion for origami has blossomed from a pastime to a serious discipline: teaching origami in schools and museums; creating his own models for publications and in exhibitions and galleries in NYC, including a solo exhibition in 2018. He has been the “origami wrangler” for several productions of “Animals Out of Paper” ; wardrobe designer for the art performance piece, “Origami Tango” in Hanover, Germany in 2019; and currently been a co-designer of the Origami Holiday Tree at the American Museum of Natural History for the past 9 years.
