October 17 6:30pm
Violinist/Vocalist Randal Harrison Hoecherl charms, challenges and inspires listeners of all ages. His community has honored him with four Madison Area Music Awards for Best Blues Artist, Jazz Artist of the Year, Jazz Album of the Year, and Classical Artist of the Year, an EMMY nomination for composition, and serving as President of the Suzuki Association of Wisconsin. Performance credits include work with the Savannah Symphony Orchestra, Blue Note recording artists Ben Tucker and Dane Richeson, legendary drummer Sam Lay of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band and “the funky drummer” himself Clyde Stubblefield. Randal’s compositions, arrangements, and performances appear in documentary film, television and over 100 artist recordings including works for Naxos and his own label StringFling Records.
While enjoying a career of composing, performing and recording, Randal has always shared what he has learned with young musicians.
