Exhibition Celebration: Jan 20 | 5-8pm

Bart at TMA is an unauthorized and in-depth look at the process and teamwork needed to create America’s longest-running primetime animated television show. Set in the fictional town of Springfield, the show explores the life of a working-class family through parodies of American culture and society, television, and the human condition.

The exhibit features over 100 hand generated animation cels (transparent sheets on which objects are drawn or painted for animation), scripts, and drawings related to the first 13 seasons. Visitors will be able to learn about the process of animation and explore the elements that make up the show’s distinctive identity, characters, style, and comedy.

This collection is on loan from William Heeter and Kristi Correa. Also made possible by the Sandra & Monroe Trout Art Exhibitions Endowment Fund within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region.
